“Derivos called. He has the address,” Adrastos announced as he walked into the spacious kitchen.

I chewed my bite slowly before swallowing. “When are we going?”

“We have to swing by and get it. Apparently, he wants to meet the newest member of the team.”

I wasn’t sure how I felt about meeting the demon who gave Adrastos assignments. Demons were slippery creatures, highly sexual and controlling. I didn’t like that I couldn’t mesmerize them, it felt like my security blanket was being taken away. Though I was glad the guys were teaching me to fight, I needed to have some other form of defense.

Damon frowned. “Are you sure that’s wise?”

“We don’t have a choice,” Adrastos grumbled, sighing. “You know what he’s like. He’ll meet her sooner or later.”

Zander crossed his arms and leaned against the kitchen island. “I don’t like this.”

“That makes three of us, Zander, but it is what it is. We’ll be in and out before you know it, with the address in hand.”

“I’m fine with it,” I offered, trying to ease tensions. All three males turned to me with troubled expressions.

“You shouldn’t be,” Damon warned.

“I’m a siren, I’m no stranger to violence and greed. Bring it on.” Sometimes I felt like if I painted on a brave face, someday it would sink down to my bones and stay there.

We finished breakfast and left quickly. Showing up at the club in the morning allowed us to avoid the crowds and any onlookers. Hopefully, it would be a quick meeting.

The first person we saw once we entered the club was a tall demon wearing a suit. He was sinfully handsome, no more so than the three males beside me, but in a different, darker way. His hair was gelled with one piece left to fall near his eye. His eyes were a crystal blue color, which was soon swallowed by black when his gaze settled on me. I had chosen to wear a tight pair of jeans and a black blouse, wanting to go for something understated. Clearly, it wasn’t understated enough if I had caught his attention.

“And who is this stunning creature?” Derivos purred as he led us toward a booth in the back, his eyes still wholly black.

“Mine,” Damon growled.

“Ours,” Zander corrected.

With a small smile, Damon conceded, “Ours.”

I turned a slight glare onto them but decided to ignore their statement for the time being. Was I really theirs?

Derivos frowned, leaning back and spreading his legs.

“So you found your mate.” He nodded his head toward Adrastos. “And you?”

Adrastos stayed quiet, but I didn’t want him to think that he wasn’t wanted, that he wasn’t every bit a part of the relationship I had found with Damon and Zander. I didn’t stop to dwell on how he knew we might be mates.

“He’s mine,” I declared, holding his gaze.

Derivos’s eyes cleared back to his natural ice-blue color as he surveyed us, his demon hiding just below the surface. “Oh, feisty siren, I like it. You’re doing well on the team, I see. A regular little murderess.
